Services and Pricing

I offer a range of editing services to help you achieve the results you’re after. Not sure what you need, or what it costs? Here are the types of editing I offer and the fees that go with each. Get in touch below!

Sample Edit

10 pages of your manuscript – $50 USD

(Price deducted from either manuscript critique or line editing if author chooses to continue with service)

What does a Sample Edit consist of, you ask? It’s a combination of a manuscript critique and line editing. I will review your ten pages of your work in the form of an editorial memo (1-2 pages), as well as address the creative content and writing style at both the sentence and paragraph level.

Turnaround for a sample edit is 1-2 weeks, with full pay expected upfront.

*manuscript must be size 12pt, double-spaced

Manuscript Critique

0-150 pages = $530

151-200 pages = $575

201-250 pages = $620

(Prices here do not reflect the $50 deduction of sample edit)

What is a manuscript critique and when should I get one? A critique is a general but in-depth assessment (7-10 written pages by me) of your manuscript, with a focus on plot, character development, and pacing. This helps tighten your story’s overall weaknesses and should come before a general editor – because there’s nothing more soul-crushing then getting a polished manuscript back only to then be told your plot sucks and your characters are one-dimensional.

Turnaround for a critique is 2-6 weeks, with half the agreed upon service fee paid upfront, and the rest paid after service is complete.

*rates increase by $45 USD per 49 pages

**manuscript must be size 12pt, double-spaced

Line Editing

$0.05/per word

(ex. 70k word manuscript = $3,500 USD)

What does a line editor do? We focus on the creative content and writing style at both the sentence and paragraph level. Line editors do not check for spelling or grammar mistakes, but rather run-on sentences, sentence stacking, and confusing narration, as well as suggest alternate word choices in order to convey proper meaning. These are important things that neither a proofreader nor a copyeditor will include in their edits.

Turnaround for a line edit is 6-12 weeks, with half the agreed upon service fee paid upfront, and the rest paid after service is complete.

*manuscript must be size 12pt, double-spaced
